About
Eunoia, who is a grumpy, overeducated, facetious, multilingual naturalised German,
blatantly opinionated, old (1944-vintage), amateur cryptologist,
computer consultant, atheist, flying instructor, bulldog-lover, Porsche-driver,
textbook-writer and blogger living
in the foothills south of the northern German plains. Not too shy to
reveal his true name or even whereabouts, he blogs his opinions, and
humour and rants irregularly.
Stubbornly he clings to his beliefs,
e.g. that Faith does not give answers, it only prevents you doing any goddamn questioning.
You are as atheist as he is. When you understand why you don't believe in all the other gods,
you will know why he does not believe in yours.
Oh, and after the death of his old bulldog, Kosmo, he also has a new bulldog, Clara, since September 2018 :-)

Spring is sprung again ;-)
Hola! Hola! Spring is sprung!
There on the trees where blossom hung
The chirpy birds full-throated sung.
I heard the village bells be rung
And church bells too are being tolled.
While hiking 'cross the fields of gold
I sadly trod in spring's cow dung,
Fresh steaming hot, not even cold,
I swore so hard, I bit my tongue!
And thus this doggerel was told ;-)

In memoriam Yuri Gagarin
On this very day back in 1961 Gagarin became the first human in space, completing a full orbit of the Earth in 108 minutes.
But his spacecraft was not designed to land, so Gagarin had to eject, landing on a personal parachute.
CCCP forgot to mention this at the time;-)
My previous post about him here.
RIP Yuri

An Embuggerance :-(
Sorry for not blogging for a month now, but things have been bad healthwise for all three of us.
Four weeks ago SWMBO (my wife) got a swelling in her jaw which was diagnosed as cancer, so off to a special cancer clinic with her.
She was operated upon quickly before it spread. Now she is back home but has to go in a nearby hospital for
several irradiation sessions to kill any remaining cancer cells they may have missed in the OP.
Meanwhile I was having some coronary troubles (Angina pectoris etc), so friend Ulrika came by daily to walk the dog (who developed a hole in her fur from stress!).
Thankyou Ulrike! I have a checkup
at my cardiologist next week, so we will see how that goes.
What an embuggerance as pTerry has written. Do NOT all get sick at once!
Blogging will resume gradually, stress permitting. In the meantime, here are some of the local spring blooms, to end on an optimistic note.

This blog is getting really unmanagable, so I've taken the first 13 years' archives offline.
My blog, my random decision. Tough shit; YOLO.

This Blog's Status is
Blog Dewey Decimal Classification : 153
FWIW, 153 is a triangular number, meaning that you can arrange 153 items into an equilateral triangle (with 17 items on a side).
It is also one of the six known truncated triangular numbers, because 1 and 15 are triangular numbers as well.
It is a hexagonal number, meaning that you can distribute 153 points evenly at the corners and along the sides of a hexagon.
It is the smallest 3-narcissistic number. This means it's the sum of the cubes of its digits.
It is the sum of the first five positive factorials. Yup, this is a 153-type blog. QED ;-)
